Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
Item upgrades are upgrade elements that can be inserted into armor, weapons or trinkets to provide an added benefit. They are generally more expensive and require that the item be at the appropriate rank.

Glyphs play a crucial part in this process. A higher upgrade level for a Glyph increases its stat attributes and its radius of impact on the Paragon Board. There are a variety of methods to obtain these upgrades, however most players will rely on the primary method: raiding Faction Crypts.
The Glyphs panel lets you add glyphs to your text by selecting them from the menu that is located on the left of the screen. The Glyphs panel displays glyphs based on the font in which your cursor is currently located. You can change the font or typestyle and narrow down the list to only include punctuation symbols by choosing an option under the Entire Font. You can see the CID/GID value and Unicode value of a glyph by moving your pointer.
The Glyphs Panel will keep the track of your last 35 glyphs, and display them under Recently Used in the first row (you must expand the panel in order that you can see all 35). You can also remove them from this list by right-clicking, or Control-clicking, a one of the glyphs in the list, and selecting Remove from Recent Glyphs.

A custom glyph set can contain up to 31 glyphs that include both the base name and its suffix. The base name must contain uppercase English alphabetic letters (A-Z) and lowercase English alphabetic letters (a-z), European numbers (0-9) and underscore (_), and other glyphs. The glyphs that make up the suffix may contain ligatures or contextual alternative that are special variations that combine two or more characters into a single visually unifying symbol.
Reroll Tokens
Upgrades are the primary mechanic that offers benefits on items, like more stats. These upgrades come in several different types: reroll, level up and recycle. Each type offers a different set extra bonuses for an item.
Reroll Tokens let players alter the power of an item's base and the number of upgrades it has and are also used to reroll substats in ring. This is useful when a player wishes to upgrade an item, but the "potential" power of that item isn't what they're looking for. Also, if the item's substats aren't optimal.
Rerolling costs 1 token, and will reset the item's upgrades, but will keep the set, rarity, and level intact. When an item is leveled up, its tier rises. The Blueprint Desk is a tool that lets players buy new appliances, ingredients, and Decorations for their restaurants. Choosing a franchise card from the Blueprint Desk will allow you to obtain certain equipment or ingredients needed for some recipes. Certain appliances and inputs are staples, which means that they won't be sold in the Shop or on rerolls, while others will have a greater chance of appearing when a specific franchise card is chosen at the Blueprint Desk. The Staple Pool is where all items will remain for the duration of the game. The same goes for non-staple equipment. transferred to the Seed Pool when it is purchased from the Blueprint Desk.
Recycled Items
The third "R," recycle, is where the magic really happens. When you recycle a product made from recycled materials, you're not just creating a better environment, but you are also giving the item new life. Most recycled items are sent back to the manufacturer from which they came to be remade into a new item. We call this "closing of the recycling loop."

A final reason to purchase recycled products is that it takes less energy to make new products from recycled materials than it does to make them from raw materials. The manufacturing process for a new aluminum container requires 95% more energy than the manufacturing of a can made of recycled material. Every little part is important.
Leveling
Most units are able to increase their level, giving them more XP each time they attack or get attacked. This XP is used to unlock upgrades or increase the main stats of the unit. Weapons are a good example of this, as they can be upgraded by increasing their damage and range.
Most leveling systems have an arbitrary number of levels that have to be reached, but this can differ from game to game. Spending coins or materials is the only way to level up. The majority of systems employ both to boost the level of an item, however a few only make use of one or the other.
